One of the three major temples of Jirisan, founded during the Silla Dynasty. It houses Gakhwangjeon Hall (National Treasure No. 67), Korea's largest wooden building, and a Four-Lion Three-Story Stone Pagoda. It is especially famous for its red plum blossoms in spring.
The symbol of Gurye embraced by Jirisan National Park. Feel like you are walking on clouds at the summit. Entry is from 4 AM to 3 PM (2 PM in winter). The 2-hour round trip course from Seongsamjae to Nogodan is highly popular.

🌼 Gurye Sansuyu Flower Festival (27th)
Gurye's representative spring festival that dyes the Sandong-myeon area at the foot of Jirisan golden. In 2026, it was held from March 14 (Sat) to 22 (Sun), and it generally takes place around mid-March every year. Under the theme 'Eternal Love, Yellow Flutter Blooming in Gurye', various programs like free Sansuyu tea tasting, wish memo boards, flower path walks, and performances are held. Couples' programs aligned with White Day are also popular.

🌸 Seomjingang 300-ri Cherry Blossom Event
The spring flower festival that follows the Sansuyu Festival. The gorgeous cherry blossom road blooming along the Seomjingang River is perfect for both driving and walking. If you plan a day trip linking it with the Hadong Simni (10-ri) Cherry Blossom Road, you can enjoy a perfect spring outing.

Piagol's autumn foliage is a festival of nature itself, without the need for special events. Peaking from late October to early November, the entire mountain is covered in red leaves. Hand-torn noodle soup made with fresh marsh snails caught in the Seomjingang River. Bubu Sikdang (12 consecutive Blue Ribbon awards) is the top local recommendation. (Closed Mondays, 11:00~14:00)
Mitten crabs and Jaecheop (marsh clams) caught in the pristine waters of Seomjingang are top local ingredients. The savory and light Jaecheop soup is highly popular for breakfast and hangover relief.
